Empowering leaders for the future of responsible investment
The imperative for responsible investment has never been greater. As climate risks materialise across the globe, investors are increasingly focused on system-level issues that go beyond traditional portfolio management.
Successful leadership in this increasingly complex reality of responsible investment demands new skills and ways of working. Leaders must navigate not just technical complexities but also manage stakeholders, form coalitions and set their long-term, strategic vision.
This is why the PRI has launched PRI Executive Education, partnering with leading business schools across the globe to provide relevant and impactful training for senior responsible investment leaders.
For more than 140 years, Wharton has been the place where visionaries, inventors, and trailblazers get their start.
This programme brings together leaders from across the investment and corporate sectors to explore the evolving nature of responsible investment, the materiality of sustainability factors, and how investors and companies can engage with these issues to preserve and create long-term value. Created through a partnership leveraging PRI Academy’s deep industry connections and real-world responsible investment implementation experience alongside Wharton’s distinguished faculty expertise, this course creates an unmatched learning environment where theory meets practice.
Participants will master essential areas including climate risk governance, competitive sustainability strategies, geopolitical scenario planning, and data analytics while benefiting from Wharton Executive Education’s proven methodologies and teaching practices. Through dialogue with leading academics and collaboration with peers, executives will learn how create long-term sustainable value while achieving stakeholder harmony and serving as stewards for environmental and societal change. Leaders will leave feeling empowered to drive positive change in their organisation, in an increasingly complex and volatile environment.

The Responsible Investment Leadership Programme is built for investment fund senior leaders who are navigating the reality of responsible investment in a polarised and unpredictable world. For those who are responsible for aligning sustainability, strategy, and financial performance – and find it increasingly hard to reconcile competing demands – this programme brings participants into a community of top-level peers facing the same pressures. The curriculum is designed around how to make decisions with high stakes in a challenging environment, including engaging with stakeholders and thinking about systemic issues. The programme offers practical coaching and research-backed frameworks for leaders facing uncertainty and crisis.
Participants will engage in experiential learning that blends confidential peer labs, hands-on case studies, and post-programme coaching. The experience helps leaders to develop actionable strategies for leadership resilience and influence. Participants will leave with an action plan for advancing responsible investment within their organisation, including how to navigate conflict, manage complexity, and drive meaningful change.
